DINING

Breakfast
Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse (Poached Eggs w Salmon).JPG

A stay at the Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse is about indulgence.  In addition to our wonderful Saturday evening dinners and mouth-watering afternoon teas on the verandah, guests also enjoy leisurely breakfasts in the dining room each morning.  Fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, an assortment of fruit compotes made from our orchard, a selection of locally-baked artisan bread and homemade jams, bottomless tea, coffee and juices, followed by a superb hot breakfast highlighting our region's local produce.

Much of the fresh produce enjoyed at breakfast is sourced from our property – stewed fruits and lovely preserves made from the fruit from our orchard, fresh herbs and greens from one of our vegetable patches, beautiful free range eggs collected from our hens each morning and a table adorned with fresh flowers from the garden.

Afternoon Teas

Formal Dinners

A highlight of any weekend stay at the guesthouse is the elegant 4-course chef-prepared Saturday evening dinner prepared by our accomplished chef, Janelle Bull.

Janelle was formerly Head Chef of Cleopatra's in Blackheath and chef at the Wharf Restaurant in Sydney and Silk's in Leura.  Born and raised in Mudgee, Janelle has a real connection to the area and the clever flair in her meals highlight the best of Mudgee's provincial fare.  Savour pre-dinner drinks and an assortment of canapés served at sunset on the verandah (or the bar downstairs in cooler months), followed by a 4-course meal of elegant fare served around our candlelit grand dining room table.  Following the sumptuous meal, guests are invited into the Fireside Lounge for port, coffee and artisan chocolates.

*Please note that evening meals are only available on Saturday evenings.  They are offered between March and November.  They are generally not available from December - February (however they can sometimes be arranged for full-house bookings, subject to our chef's availability).
